TIMONIUM, Md. - Last month, she was named Miss Washington County Farm Bureau. Today, she's Miss Maryland Agriculture 2007.

Jamie Lee Beckley, 19, of Williamsport, won the title and $9,000 in scholarship and cash awards Friday night at the Maryland State Fair in Timonium.

Currently a student at Hagerstown Community College, Beckley is a graduate of Clear Spring High School, where she was active in the 4-H Livestock Club and the Future Farmers of America. She plans to pursue an agriculture business degree at West Virginia University, then return to Maryland for a career in farm management or business.

The daughter of Steve and Carol Beckley, she grew up on the family farm. She started showing animals at age 8, she said.
