Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike, the new community ministry building will be dedicated today.

Soup, sandwiches and desserts will be available starting at 11 a.m. The Guilford Station Bluegrass Band will present a gospel concert from noon to 1 p.m.

For the fourth consecutive year, church quilters handstitched a quilt for the church's annual auction under the leadership of veteran quilter Dorothy Binkley.

The 85 by 65-inch quilt is stitched in an Arkansas Traveler design and is one of many items, including other handcrafted articles, which will be offered for sale. Auction bidding will begin at 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the church's building fund.


Grace Brethren Church, 315 Edwards Ave., Chambersburg, Pa., a spaghetti dinner will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m.

Adult tickets cost $6 while tickets for ages 3 to 12 cost $3. Children younger than 2 eat free.

This dinner is for the benefit of the Awana Program on Wednesday evenings starting Sept. 12.

Rhodes Grove Meadows Conference Center, Chambersburg, Pa., the 55th annual camp meeting will continue through Sept. 2. Nightly services begin at 7:30 except for weekends, when they start at 7:15.

New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church, meeting at Potomac Heights Elementary School, 301 E. Magnolia Ave., Hagerstown, Randy Simpson will be in concert this Sunday at the 9 a.m. service.

A continental breakfast will follow.

United Methodist Church of Pleasant Valley, off Md. 77 , Donnie Leatherman will be guest speaker this Sunday at 7 p.m.

Douglas Sowers will bring special music.

Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren, Hollow Road, Hancock, Erik Nelson will perform a one-man drama on the life of John Newton entitled But Now I See this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

A carry-in dinner will follow.

Hagerstown City Park, Outreach Ministries Summer in the Park series will be held this Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 11507 Robinwood Drive, a Fun in the Sun community block party will be held this Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot.

This free event will include games, prizes, food, music and live animals.

St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Road, a special disability service will be held this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Friends and relatives with a disability are encouraged to attend as the congregation strives to welcome all to its services.

Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, W.Va., a spiritual awareness fair will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center, Ram's Den.

The fair will showcase the diverse range of local spiritual and faith communities. This event provides an opportunity for students to become familiar with formal and informal opportunities to explore spirituality in the local community.

Paramount Brethren in Christ, Ablaze 24/7 community youth event will begin Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. and continue through Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.

There will be food and drink available.

Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Ave., the 2nd annual antique tractor and car show will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be a pedal pull for kids at 11 a.m. and a parade and barrel races at noon.

The rain date is Sept. 8.
