Truck and tractor pulls on for today

LEETOWN, W.Va. - The truck and tractor pulls scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today and Saturday are still a go at the 2007 Jefferson County Fair.

"The truck and tractor pulls are on for this years fair" said Richard Nicodemus, fair director and event superintendent. Due to recent weather conditions, speculation has been that the events would be cancelled.

This popular event is free with admission.

The order of pull for both nights is as follows:

Today, 6:30 p.m: 9,500 Stock; 6,000 Classic Modified Tractors*; 7,500 Stock; 5,500 Stock; 6,500 Pro Street*; 7,000 Stock Truck; 8,000 Stock Diesel Truck.

Saturday, 6:30 p.m.: 18,500 Stock and Turbo; 6,800 Modified Truck; 15,500 Stock and Turbo; 8,000-pound Modified Diesel 4x4 Truck*; 12,500 Stock and Turbo; 6,200 Modified Stock Truck.

The Jefferson County Fairgrounds is on Old Leetown Pike, three miles west of Charles Town, W.Va. Admission costs $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 15, and free for children younger than 6. For more information, visit the fair's web site at www.jeffersoncountyfairwv.org.
