Man who shot George Wallace in 1972 to be released

Arthur Bremer, the man who shot Alabama Gov. George Wallace during a 1972 presidential campaign stop in Maryland, will be released from prison by December, an official said Thursday. Bremer, who was sentenced to 53 years for the crime, is an inmate at Maryland Correctional Institituion-Hagerstown, south of Hagerstown.
