August 21, 2007

A man who took an undetermined amount of cash in a Monday afternoon strong-arm robbery at the Friendly Market and Deli was still at large late Monday, Hagerstown City Police said.

Sgt. Rebecca Fetchu said the clerk in the store at 101 E. North Ave. was pushed by the robber in the commission of the 4 p.m. robbery.

The clerk refused medical treatment, rescuers said.

The robber was described as a black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing 220 pounds. Last seen running on foot from the store, the robber was wearing a white ball cap, a black shirt, green cargo pants and very large glasses, Fetchu said.

Police asked that anyone with information about the robber call 301-790-3700.
