Almost as good as the first CD

CD review: "It's a Bit Complicated"

CD review: "It's a Bit Complicated"

Art Brut's recent release, "It's a Bit Complicated," pleased me the moment I turned it on. Its guitar parts remind me of the Buzzcocks, and backup vocals are like the Beach Boys.

"It's A bit Complicated" is definitely not a disappointment, but it could never be as witty or all-around impressive as Art Brut's first CD, "Bang Bang Rock and Roll," released May 30.

Traces of "Bang Bang Rock and Roll" can still be found in songs such as "Pump Up the Volume," "Direct Hit," and "Nag Nag Nag Nag." Also, the lyrics are still about the music industry and relationships, much like the first. That's a good thing.

With Art Brut's twangy guitar parts, British style, and hilarious lyrics, "It's a Bit Complicated" is great for anyone who loves to laugh!
