Caregivers clinic

Dr. Mary Lynn Graham of Audiology Hearing Care Services and clinical audiologist Jamie Ingle and Amy Wix Johnston, doctor of audiology, will conduct a free clinic for caregivers at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Martinsburg Mall's community room. The clinic will cover the basics of hearing, hearing aid maintenance and preventative care.

The learning seminar is for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, nursing assistants, and family members and friends caring for the hearing-impaired who live at home, in assisted living or nursing home facilities.

Program about G.E.R.D.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia University Hospitals-East and West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Services Center Eastern Division will sponsor a community mini-medical school program titled "Heartburn (G.E.R.D. Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease)" Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the Erma Byrd Health Professionals Education Center on the City Hospital campus.

Sign-in for the program begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program to follow from 7 to 8 p.m. A dessert reception will be offered.

More than 5 million Americans suffer with indigestion or G.E.R.D. The public is invited to attend this program to learn more about the causes and cure for G.E.R.D. The featured speaker is Dr. Shahin Rahimian, a board certified gastroenterologist with Panhandle Gastroenterology and a member of the medical staff at City Hospital.
