Suns go down quietly

August 20, 2007

The Hagerstown Suns managed just one run Sunday and fell 5-1 to the Greensboro Grasshoppers, who won three of four in the series at Municipal Stadium.

Francisco Plasencia doubled leading off the fourth and later scored on a double-play grounder as the Suns cut Greensboro's lead to one at 2-1. But that was all she wrote for Hagerstown's offense.

Back-to-back doubles by Spike McDougall and Logan Morrison gave the Grasshoppers a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth. Scott Cousins' two-run double made it 4-1 in the fifth, and Daniel Garcia added an RBI double in the sixth.
