Equipped for Life in larger quarters

August 19, 2007

Equipped for Life recently moved from its location on Jefferson Boulevard in Hagerstown to a new retail store in the Hagerstown Shopping Center at 525 Dual Highway.

The new store, with 13,600 square feet, is more than double the size of the previous location, which had 6,000 square feet. It houses a showroom, service center, repair area, administrative offices, a warehouse, and a loading dock for deliveries.

"We had outgrown our Jefferson Boulevard showroom, in part because we expanded our product offerings," Jen Silver, clinical representative supervisor of Equipped for Life, said in a prepared release.

The bigger showroom will enable the company to showcase all product lines under one roof, including uniforms, accessories and shoes, stethoscopes, wound care supplies, crutches, blood glucose monitors, portable oxygen systems, walkers, seat lift recliner chairs, blood pressure monitors, and adjustable positions beds.

The larger showroom allows for additional amenities such as a dressing room and an area for testing motorized equipment.

The new store also has improved parking and expanded hours, said Mark Ellis, CRT, director of Equipped for Life.

There also is more staff on hand and less waiting time for walk-in customers, he said.

Store hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Equipped for Life also can be found in the Home Care Pharmacy at Washington County Hospital and at Robinwood Medical Center, at 22933 Jefferson Blvd. in Smithsburg Plaza, 307 E. Potomac St. in Williamsport, and at 949 Wayne Ave. in Chambersburg, Pa.
