The Wolfes

Emanuel E. and Betty Wolfe of Boonsboro celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 14, 2007, at a party hosted by their children, Terry and Debbie Babington, Gene Wolfe, Craig and Brenda Leggett, and David and Dawn Wolfe.

During the evening, the couple and guests reviewed scrapbooks - compiled by Mrs. Wolfe - that contained pictures and memorabilia from the couple's past 50 years together.

The Wolfes were married July 20, 1957, by Pastor Donald R. Warrenfelt of Leitersburg Lutheran Church.

Mr. Wolfe served in the U.S. Army Reserve at Fort Knox, Ky. He worked at Waynesboro Knitting Co., Fairchild and Pangborn Corp., and he is employed by the Department of the Interior at Monocacy National Battlefield.


Mrs. Wolfe is a homemaker. She worked at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home, Reeders Memorial Home, Washington County Hospital and Conservit Inc., and she retired from the Department of the Interior at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in 2005.

The Smiths

Charles and Marian Smith of Boonsboro celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their immediate family. The dinner was hosted by their daughter, Brenda Sulcer of Hagerstown, and her two sons, Brenton Sulcer of Sharpsburg and Ryan Sulcer of Hagerstown.

The Smiths were married Aug. 4, 1947, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Rohrersville with the Rev. William Wade officiating. Mrs. Smith is the former Marian Rohrer of Rohrersville.

Mr. Smith retired from Acme Markets after 42 years.
