BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - The Morgan County Sheriff Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of a teenager missing since Monday and the 37-year-old man with whom she might be traveling.
Chelsea Dawn Rye, 17, no address given, was reported as a runaway Monday night, according to a press release from the department. Police believe she might be with Danny Franklin Grady, no address given, who is wanted in Virginia on felony charges and might pose a danger to Rye.
Police believe Grady and Rye could be traveling to either Bryson City, N.C., or to New York.
They might be traveling in a red 1999 Ford Mustang with silver racing stripes and West Virginia license number 8JD-826, police said. The car has damage on the passenger side, tinted windows and white Mustang decals on the windshield, rear and side windows.
Rye is 5 feet 3 inches tall and 110 pounds with long, curly brown hair, brown eyes, a purple cross tattoo on her back and pierced ears and bellybutton, police said. She is known to wear dangling earrings, police said.
