Truck fire reported today

August 17, 2007

Emergency crews were at the Pilot truck stop on Greencastle Pike this morning because a tractor-trailer was on fire, according to a Washington County 911 dispatcher.

The call was classified as a hazardous materials incident, the dispatcher said, and the Maryland Department of the Environment was asked to respond.

The call was dispatched at 6:14 a.m.

A county 911 employee who was at the scene said the tractor-trailer was about 20 to 25 feet away from gas pumps and the cab was on fire.
