Q. What are your goals for the school year?

A. Our goals for the 2007-08 school year are to foster academic and social success by actively engaging our students in instruction, providing a variety of intervention and enrichment opportunities, and supporting our students based on individual needs.

We will also focus on improving our overall student attendance and increasing parental and community involvement in the learning process.

Q. What will help ensure a successful school year?

A. Success for this school year will take teamwork, collaboration and efforts from everyone, including students, parents, staff and community members. The Winter Street staff will continue to work together to provide an academic experience that promotes success and achievement individually and schoolwide.

Q. Can students and staff expect any changes this school year?

A. Yes. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our instructional practices to meet the needs of our students. Staff will continue to grow professionally by participating in various professional development opportunities focused on instructional practices and student achievement. We will also be looking at ways to implement new programs to increase our student attendance and parent/community involvement.

Q. What message would you like to send as the school year begins?

A. The Winter Street staff is prepared for another wonderful and exciting school year. We look forward to watching our students grow academically, socially and emotionally. We encourage all our students to "Be Respectful, Responsible, Safe and Prepared." Parents and community members are encouraged to become involved in the education of our wonderful students.

At Winter Street, we value the individual student, celebrate success and build a community of lifelong learners.
