Historical society seeks recipes for new cookbook

August 17, 2007

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro Historical Society is looking for recipes to be printed in the society's second cookbook. The cookbook will be professionally produced in the same style and as a companion to the historical society's previous cookbook, "Culinary Traditions: A Taste of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania." In addition to recipes, each cookbook will contain historical photos, cooking tips, and special pages of local interest, and will be ready in time for Christmas.

Recipes in all categories including appetizers, breads, soups, salads, entres, side dishes and desserts are needed. Each contributor may send up to five recipes, and the contributor's name will appear by each recipe. In addition, brief anecdotes about the recipe's origin or family traditions connected to the recipes are welcome.

Recipes may be e-mailed to davidthompson17@comcast.net, or typed or neatly printed and mailed to Waynesboro Historical Society, 138 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268, Attn: Joyce Thompson. Make sure ingredient amounts are correct. Include name (as you want it to appear in the cookbook), town and telephone number so you can be reached if there are questions. Recipes must be sent by Saturday, Sept. 1, to meet the publisher's deadline.
