Q. What are your goals for the school year?

A. Collaboratively review individual student data and develop plans to continue to exceed the increasing demands of No Child Left Behind.

To build working relationships with the Smithsburg community to better transition students into Smithsburg Elementary, provide a "World-Class Education" while students are at Smithsburg Elementary and help to successfully transition students who are lifelong learners to Smithsburg Middle School.

Q. What will help ensure a successful school year?

A. Work with the school community to provide the best education possible to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

Develop positive working relationships with the Smithsburg Elementary School community to collaboratively help students grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Q. Can students and staff expect any changes this school year?

A. As a new leader to Smithsburg Elementary School, the potential for change(s) exists. I plan to work with the school community to ensure successful change processes with a focus on student growth and success.

Q. What message would you like to send as the school year begins?

A. I am excited to be part of Washington County Public Schools and the wonderful opportunities that are afforded to both children and adults. I am especially honored to be principal of Smithsburg Elementary School and look forward to working with students, staff, parents and community members to produce individualized student achievement.
