Comment sought on school plan

August 16, 2007|By JENNIFER FITCH

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Public comment is being accepted on the Waynesboro Area School District's strategic plan, which comprehensively guides areas like graduation requirements, staff development, technology use and student assessment.

Copies of the strategic plan, which fills a binder, have been on display at various places around the school district, including the central office at 210 Clayton Ave.

Assistant Superintendent Gloria Walker said she will be retrieving the copies Friday and incorporating comments into the plan, which soon must be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

"This is basically two years worth of work," Walker said.

She identified one of the plan's biggest changes as the format of the teacher induction program. New teachers will now undergo two days worth of orientation instead of one.
