The issue: The Washington County Board of Education plans to renovate property in downtown Hagerstown to accommodate a school for the performing arts.

What's new: The Hagerstown City Council voted Tuesday to transfer city-owned property to the Hagerstown Neighborhood Development Partnership Inc. Officials have said the property at 9-11 S. Potomac St. will house the new Barbara Ingram School for the Arts.

What's next: Washington County Public Schools Superintendent Elizabeth Morgan has said staff soon will provide details about tax credits, donations and other details about funding for the school.
