Bricker makes Pa. cut
LANCASTER, Pa. - Waynesboro's Chad Bricker shot a 1-over 71 in the 91st Pennsylvania Open championship, leaving himself in a tie for 17th and making the cut for today's final round at Lancaster Country Club on the Old Course.
Bricker's round included three birdies and four bogeys over the 6,828-yard layout. He posted a 72 on Monday and has a 143 for two rounds, seven shots behind leader Richie Krebs, of Spring Grove, Pa.
Christian Breed, also of Waynesboro, shot an 81 and missed the cut with a 159.

Tennis tournament
The fourth annual Roger Parker Classic tennis tournament will be held from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3 at Shepherd University. Categories include: Men's and women's open singles and doubles; mixed open doubles; father/son, mother/daughter, father/daughter and mother/son doubles; 35-and-over men's and women's singles; and 50-and-over men's and women's singles and doubles.
The deadline for entry is Aug. 28. Entry fee is $33 for singles and $46 per doubles team.

Rippers tryouts
The River City Rippers fastpitch softball organization will hold tryouts for their 12U, 14U and 16U teams on Aug. 25 and 26 beginning at 1 p.m. at Kemps Mill Park in Williamsport.
