Personal enrichment mini-courses

FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick Community College's Continuing Education division is partnering with local businesses and agencies to offer a series of free personal enrichment mini-courses.

The classes are:

· Educational Alternatives: Home-School Informational Forum and Open House, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, FCC Conference Center. In conjunction with HomeschoolFrederick.com and Families Plus!, FCC presents a roundtable discussion and sharing of educational resources for families that home school their children.

· Healthy Choices, 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, Sol Yoga, 256 W. Patrick St., Unit 4. In partnership with The Healing Way and Sol Yoga of Frederick, FCC offers an intro to basic movement and relaxation techniques from yoga and meditation practices.

· Start Here: Your First Steps to Financial Health, noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, FCC Conference Center. Sponsored by FCC and Moore Wealth Inc. For people interested in improving their fiscal fitness.

· Writing Your Family History, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, C. Burr Artz Library, West Patrick Street. Author Edith Hemingway, FCC and Frederick County Public LIbraries will discuss writing family histories.

Digital art class

Students will learn to apply computer techniques in a way similar to what a fine artist might do in the studio. The class is designed for artists, printmakers and visual communicators who are interested in experimenting with Adobe Photoshop and other media.
