Maryland Avenue will be closed across the intersection. Northbound and southbound traffic on Maryland Avenue will be required to turn right onto Wilson Boulevard at all times. Motorists approaching the intersection should expect to encounter barricades, traffic control devices and detour signs until the work is completed.

Rail crossing at Northern and Pennsylvania avenues
CSX Railroad will be reconstructing existing rail crossings on Northern Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue during the week of Aug. 13, according to a City of Hagerstown press release.
The work will require the closure of streets to through traffic as described below:
· Northern Avenue: Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, crews will reconstruct the existing rail crossing between Fountain Head Road and The Terrace. Northern Avenue will be closed to all through traffic between these two streets; local traffic will be allowed on Northern Avenue up to the work zone at the rail crossing. Through traffic will detour around the work zone via Oak Hill Avenue, Prospect Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue. CSX officials anticipate Northern Avenue will be reopened to through traffic by 8 p.m. Monday, according to the release.
· Pennsylvania Avenue: Beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, crews will reconstruct the existing rail crossing between Belview Avenue and Park Lane. Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed to all through traffic between these two streets; local traffic will be allowed on Pennsylvania Avenue up to the work zone at the rail crossing. Through traffic will detour around the work zone via Belview Avenue, Park Lane, Woodland Way and Prospect Avenue. Officials anticipate Pennsylvania Avenue will reopen to traffic by 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the release.
