MERCERSBURG, Pa. - The Mercersburg Lions Club will be hosting its 32nd annual community fair from Sunday, Aug. 12, to Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Lions Club Park at 405 S. Park Ave. The fair consists of food, games, prizes, crafts, antiques, musical performances and a yard sale spread over an acre.
On Sunday, the fair kicks off with "An Evening in the Park." A vespers service led by the Rev. Alan Wilson of St. Lukes Lutheran Church and St. Stevens Lutheran Church begins at 7 p.m. Then the Mercersburg community band plays at 8 p.m. and will soundtrack the firework display at 9 p.m.
The food stand provided by the Mercersburg Lions Club will open each evening at 5:30 and serve until 11 p.m. The menu includes sandwiches - Italian, pork burger with sauerkraut, hot dogs, ground ox, pork tenderloin, hoagie and country ham - and homemade soups, french fries, ice cream and make-your-own sundae.
