Volunteers clean and paint house

August 06, 2007

Volunteers from all over the country painted and renovated homes in Washington County during the week of July 22 as part of the Antietam Workcamp.

While most jobs were finished within a week, several were unable to be completed. Local volunteers are helping to finish the jobs for residents.

On July 30, one crew cleaned and painted at a house. Most of the members of the crew were seniors from the North Hagerstown High School International Baccalaureate Program. The students were Leah Beachley, Jess Cardenas, Gretchen Schoeck, Otto Schoeck, Betsy Warner and Lauren Zamora. Adult volunteers were Jennifer Drake and Angie Sievers, members of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and Lauran Clowser of First Christian Church.

Members of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and students from Saint James School also have volunteered to finish local projects.
