The Washington County Commission on Aging will sponsor the AARP Driver Safety Program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, and Thursday, Aug. 16, at Washington County Commission on Aging, 140 W. Franklin St., fourth floor, Hagerstown. The instructor will be Richard Mooers.
The program will also be offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Grantsville Senior Center, 125 Durst Court, Grantsville, Md. The instructor is Elaine Brauer. To register for the course in Grantsville, call 301-895-5818.
The cost of the class is $10 per person and checks should be made payable to AARP. If the class is canceled, enrollees will be notified and registration fees returned or held for the next scheduled class. The class is designed to help drivers improve their skills and prevent traffic accidents. AARP's Driver Safety Program is approved in every state, and automobile insurance companies in some states provide premium reductions to those who have taken the class. Classes are open to drivers of all ages.
