WINCHESTER, Va. - Duward E. Hose, 89, of Woodland Avenue, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Sept. 17, 1917, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Amanda Griffin Hose.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene G. Hose, in 1990. They were married Oct. 29, 1947.

He was a teacher of building trades O.I.C. for city and county schools.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of retired Teamsters Union and 10th Mountain Division of Ski Troupes in Italy.

He is survived by one daughter, Teresa J. Sandberg of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one son, David R. Hose Sr. of Winchester; one sister, Virginia Davis of Williamsport; one brother, Gwaylon L. Hose of Williamsport; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarah E. Hose, Catherine E. Hose and Thelma I. Beattie; and four brothers, Kenneth G. Hose, Speener M. Hose, Norman N. Hose and Charles E. Hose.

A graveside service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Mount Hebron Cemetery. The Rev. Jean McDonald-Walker will officiate.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Winchester.

Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, Winchester.
