St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Pastor Mike Henning will lead the 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. communion services this Sunday. The topic is Our Vertical Relationship.

Smithsburg Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Jim Hoffer will be speaker at the 11:30 a.m. service today on Sabbath Rest: The Real Issues. A fellowship dinner will follow.

On Saturday, Aug. 11, the church/community picnic will be held at the Clopper's Grove Fellowship Building from 11 a.m. until late afternoon.

There will be food, ice cream and novelty stands as well as music by the Byler Family. Bring your own picnic food or purchase a lunch.

The youth religious education classes, which also begin at 10:45 a.m., are focusing on Nurturing the Spirit-Nature Connection of ecology and religion this year.

Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Pastor Alan Smith will speak at the 10:35 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, Doing It The Right Way. Carolyn Kegg will bring special music. David Hahn is worship leader.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Pastor Phillip Fogarty will be celebrant and preacher at the 8 and 11 a.m. services this Sunday. Refreshments will be available before and after the contemporary service at 9 a.m.

St. James Brethren Church, the Rev. David Cooksey will be speaking at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services this Sunday. The topic is Enough and More from God. There will be special music by Frank Martin.
