John Francis Clark, 79, of 14 Catawba Circle, Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 14, 1927, in Lonaconing, Md., he was the son of the late Leslie E. and Annie Devlin Clark.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Mason Clark, in 1984.

He was employed by Champion Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He was a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211.

He is survived by one sister, Nancy Smith of Lonaconing, Md.; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary T. Lushbaugh; and one son, John M. Clark.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown.
