WILLIAMSPORT - Jack Lester McCauley Sr., 73, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born Nov. 19, 1933, in Pinesburg, he was the son of the late Charles Edmond and Sara Jane Timmons McCauley.

He was employed by St. James Corp., Hagerstown, for 44 years until retiring in 1998.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church and Methodist Men.

He was a member of AMVETS Post 10, Hagerstown, IORM Tribe 84 of Williamsport, and Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Jackson McCauley; one daughter, Karen S. Eyler of Williamsport; two sons, Jack L. McCauley Jr. of Hagerstown, and Gregory A. McCauley of Williamsport; one sister, Mae E. Palmer of Downsville; one brother, Paul S. McCauley of Waynesboro, Pa.; and six grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey L. McCauley; one sister, Pauline M. Jackson; two brothers, John E. McCauley and Jerrymi McCauley; two half sisters, Frances Barnhart and Leona Byers; and two half brothers, Carl McCauley and Samuel McCauley.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. The Rev. Marcia Mayor will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. Military graveside services will be provided.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
