WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Charles Ora Willard, 71, of Mar Penn Avenue, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at his home of cancer.

Born Sept. 10, 1935 in Foxville, Md., he was the son of the late Ora R. Willard and Bertha R. Toms Willard.

He worked for Mack Trucks in Hagerstown from 1962 until his retirement in 1991.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Germantown Church of God and Faith Bible Class in Cascade.

He was a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game Association and U.A.W. Union 171.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine S. Buhrman Willard, whom he married July 1, 1956; four children, Douglas C. Willard of Rouzerville, Pa., Deanna L. Shaffer of Waynesboro, Jamie A. Anderegg of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Mark A. Willard of Thurmont, Md.; seven sisters, Mildred Hays, Ruth Harne, Catherine Lucas, Evelyn Barlup and Audrey Wright, all of Smithsburg, Bernice Harne of Pensacola, Fla., and Mary Harrison of Lititz, Pa.; two brothers, John Willard of Thurmont and Robert Willard of Smithsburg; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.


Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Germantown Church of God in Cascade. Pastor Mark A. Hosler will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg.
