WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. - Shirley Ann Startzman Perry, 70, of Winter Springs, Fla., died at her home on July 27, 2007.

Born in Hagerstown, Md., on Jan. 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Max William Startzman and Malissa Jane Startzman Kees.

A graduate with the class of "54" of Hagerstown High School, she later graduated in 1957 from the Washington County Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a nurse from the American Red Cross.

She resided in Westminster, Md., Raleigh, N.C., Annapolis, Md., and Winter Haven, Fla., prior to living in Winter Springs.

She pursued many hobbies, particularly ceramics, gardening, reading and volunteering with the American Red Cross. Organizations that she was active with include Red Hat Ladies, N.S.D.A.R., Order of the Eastern Star of the Masonic Lodge, and the AARP.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Sherman W. Perry; three children, Wayne Perry and his wife, Joyce, of Catonsville, Md.; Brenda Adams and her husband, Jerry, of Eldersburg, Md. and Laura Graf and her husband, Charles, of Westminster, also survive her; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Helen Main of Chambersburg, Pa.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A sister, Malissa; and a brother, Richard J. Startzman of Williamsport, Md. preceded her in death.

Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Donald Haas officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
