MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Amos Remsberg "Bud" Keller Jr., 85, of Middletown, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at his home.

Born June 4, 1922 in Middletown, he was the son of the late Amos R. Keller Sr. and Daisy Thomas Keller.

He was a farmer.

He was a member of Locust Valley Bible Church in Middletown and a former member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ in Middletown.

He was a member of Catoctin Soil Conservation, Middletown Valley Grange, Maryland-Virginia Milk Producer Association, Farm Credit Board and Frederick County (Md.) Farm Bureau and Holstein-Friesian, among other organizations.


Among other awards, he was named outstanding young farmer in 1957 for Frederick County, sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce and finished second that year for the State of Maryland.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, P. Geraldine "Geri" Keller; four children, Steven E. Keller Sr. of Bowie, Md., and Ronald L. Keller, Phyllis D. Shafer and Nancy M. Bonde, all of Middletown; two sisters, Katherine V. Fink of Boonsboro and Mary E. O'Hara of Frederick, Md.; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert C. Keller, Richard A. Keller and Russell R. Keller.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Locust Valley Bible Church in Middletown. The Rev. Curvin D. Stambaugh will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home in Middletown. Visitation also will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
