Open fires banned in Antrim Township

July 31, 2007

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Open fires have been prohibited in Antrim Township beginning Wednesday at noon, the township announced Monday.

The supervisors issued the ban because of the recent dry and windy weather and the lack of adequate rainfall, according to a news release.

The rainfall from the weekend was not enough to relieve the dry conditions, the release states.

The ban could be lifted at anytime if supervisors determine the dry conditions no longer exist.

For more information on the ban, check out www.twp.antrim.pa.us or call 717-597-3818.
