HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Hattie G. Housden, 65, of Harpers Ferry, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at her home.

Born May 17, 1942, in Sunset Hills, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Shepherd Bayles and Elizabeth Marie Wiley Bayles.

She was a multiple machine operator with Halltown Paperboard Co. with 17 years of service.

She was a Christian.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Donald Lee Housden Sr., at home; one daughter, Rose Frazier of Harpers Ferry; three sons, Donald Housden Jr. of Harpers Ferry, Tony Housden of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Mark Housden of New Jersey; three sisters, H. Pauline Miller of Gaithersburg, Md., Mary M. Kesner of Winchester, Va., and Joyce M. Saylor of Mount Storm, W.Va.; one brother, Paul A. Bayles Sr. of Ranson, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter

She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky L. Housden; four sisters, Goldie Printz, Virgie Lee, Nettie Gill and Ruth Wilfong; seven brothers, David S. Bayles, Donald W. Bayles, Joseph W. Bayles, Charles Bayles Jr., Gilbert M. Bayles Sr., Garland Bayles Sr. and Gary E. Bayles.


Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry. Pastor Jim Holt will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
