STATE LINE, Pa. - Mary C. Parmer, age 96, a resident of Morning Glory Retirement Home, State Line, Pa., and formerly of Hollowell Church Road, Waynesboro, Pa., died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007, at the home.

Born July 9, 1911, in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Minnie (Bowman) Bowders.

She and her husband, Charles S. Parmer Sr., were married Feb. 23, 1929. He died Dec. 15, 2005.

Mrs. Parmer was a homemaker.

Surviving family are one son, Charles S. Parmer Jr. of Waynesboro; one grandson, Douglas Parmer of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Anna M. Mayhugh Miller of Waynesboro and Margaret Gelwicks of York, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia Bowders and Corrine Stoner; and four brothers, Merle, Robert, Melvin and Ralph Bowders.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. from Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, with Minister Shelley Graybill officiating. Burial will be in the Beautiful View Cemetery, near State Line.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
