Girls Scene

Ballet master class

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Carter Alexander, faculty member at Miami City Ballet School will conduct a four-day workshop of master classes. Art from around the world

College for Kids will present Art from Around the World, for students going into grades four and five. The class will explore many different cultures and will spend the week making traditional and contemporary artwork based on the art of each country studied. 8:45 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 3. Folk tale exploration

College for Kids will present Folk Tale Fun. Ballroom dance

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Nancy J. Walker will offer foxtrot and Argentine tango classes.

Tuesdays, July 31 to Aug. 21 - Foxtrot 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. $55 per couple.

Tuesdays, Sept. 4 through Oct. 23 - Argentine tango 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. or 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. $108 per couple.

Belly dancing for women

Free art workshops for children

The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts is offering free art workshops. Each instructor will introduce their own specialized art medium to children between the ages of 6 and 12. Registration is required. Call 301-739-5727. Due to limited space, children may enroll for two of the 10 classes:

Make your money work harder

Financial advisor Shelby Penn-Ross will present her series on financial and retirement planning. Participants will assess their personal financial situation, set realistic goals, and learn to understand investment and financial risks. There will also be information on traditional and Roth IRAs, estate planning, stocks and bonds, no-load mutual funds, college investment plans, money market funds and more. 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, July 31, Aug. 7, 14, 21. Drawing for Dummies
