CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Esther R. West Rodgers, 96, of Penn Hall of Menno Haven and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 1, 1910 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Emma Reed West.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick T. "Ted" Rodgers, in 1991. They were married Aug. 10, 1935.
She attended Waynesboro schools.
She had been employed by Geiser Department Store in Waynesboro.
She was a member of Dulaney Valley Baptist Church.
She was a member of Loyal Order of the Eastern Star and Garden Club, both of Randallstown, Md.
She is survived by one son, Charles E. Rodgers of Waynesboro; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Duffy, Virgie E. Shockey and Naomi B. Shank.
