WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Aaron B. "Ben" Sollenberger III, 68, of 928 E. Main St., died Monday, July 23, 2007, at Quincy (Pa.) United Methodist Home.

Born Nov. 27, 1938 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Martha E. Shockey Sollenberger of Waynesboro and the late Aaron B. Sollenberger Jr.

He was a 1956 graduate of Waynesboro High School. He attended Mercersburg (Pa.) Academy, and Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.


After moving to Jacksonville, Fla., he was a service representative for a mortgage company, retiring in 2005.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of an Episcopal church in Jacksonville.

He was listed with Who's Who of Poetry.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four children, Scott S. Sollenberger of Texas, Laurel E. Roelke of Indianapolis, and David L. Sollenberger and Aaron B. Sollenberger, both of Whitehall, N.Y.; one brother, Stephen S. Sollenberger of Falls Church, Va.; six grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara E. Sollenberger.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The Rev. Linda Watkins will officiate.

Burial will be private in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.
