Clyde Edward Ensminger, 87, formerly of 355 West Side Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 18, 1920 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Elden W. Ensminger and Minnie A. Palmer Ensminger Ripple.

He was employed by New York Central Iron Works for 35 1/2 years.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Friendship Men's Bible Class and Grace United Methodist Men.

He was a member of Antietam Fire Hall, AARP and West End Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, Edna R. Rossman Ensminger; three sons, Richard L. Ensminger of Weatherford, Texas, Robert D. Ensminger of Brainerd, Minn., and Charles E. Ensminger of Selma, N.C.; one sister, Evelyn L. Bowders of Chambersburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. David R. Brosnan will officiate. Burial will be in Beautiful View Cemetery in State Line.


The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
