FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Vivian Gsell Bare, 85, a resident of The Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, and formerly of 131 Hamilton Ave. in Waynesboro, Pa., died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Oct. 22, 1921, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Stewart Franklin and Mary Emma Hunsecker Gsell.

She graduated from Chambersburg High School with the class of 1939.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence G. "Bill" Bare Jr. They were married March 7, 1944. He died Nov. 14, 1992.

She worked for Waynesboro Hospital in the snack bar prior to retiring in 1983 .

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rouzerville, Pa.

She was a member of Beta-Y-Gradale Sorority of the YMCA, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1191 Ladies Auxiliary, Waynesboro Fish and Game Association and AARP South Chapter 2977, all of Waynesboro.


She is survived by two daughters, Brenda M. Doyle of Shippensburg, Pa., and Betsy L. Wright of Waynesboro; one son, William E. Bare of Waynesboro; and four grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
