BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Miguel Angel Perez, 74, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born June 6, 1933, in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Miguel Perez and Feal.

He was a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War for which he received medals. He worked for the Department of Defense at Fort Meade in Maryland for 11 years.

He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60 of Berkeley Springs, Benjamin B. French Masonic Lodge of Washington, D.C. and had been a semi-professional boxer in the U.S. Army.


He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Hall Perez of Berkeley Springs; one stepdaughter, Laura Owens of Arnold, Md.; one son, Michael A. Perez of New Holland, Pa.; three stepsons, Harold Bunker and Philip A. Bunker, both of Berkeley Springs and Daniel L. Bunker of Sharpsburg; sisters and brothers; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacqueline P. Brown.

Services will be private.

Burial will be in Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs.
