Correction

July 19, 2007

A story about the Waynesboro Area School District being removed from a state warning status that appeared on B1 of Wednesday's edition of The Morning Herald omitted information.

The lead of the story stated: The Waynesboro Area School District has been removed from state "warning status" after bearing that classification for a year with just five of Pennsylvania's 501 school districts.

The story should have included that an additional 19 school districts in the state were in worse classifications such as "school improvement" and "corrective action."

The seventh paragraph of the story should have said that the Waynesboro school district had 11 percent more test takers scoring proficient or advanced in math than the previous year.
