Reward offered in Pa. pharmacy robbery

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - RxPATROL-Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for pharmacy robbery in the Chambersburg area.

The Chambersburg Police Department is investigating a pharmacy robbery at The Medicine Shoppe at 370 Philadelphia Av.

RxPATROL-Crime Stoppers and the Chambersburg Police are asking for the public's assistance by offering the reward for any information that will help local law enforcement solve this crime.

The cash reward is donated by pharmaceutical company Purdue Pharma L.P., which operates RxPATROL, a collaborative effort between industry, pharmacists and law enforcement to collect, collate, analyze and disseminate information on pharmacy theft.

Anyone with information about the robbery described below is asked to call RxPATROL-Crime Stoppers at 1-888-4RxTips.

On July 9, two unknown suspects entered the store through the front entrance and proceeded to the pharmacy counter. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded an undisclosed amount of prescription medications, police said. After stealing the medications, both suspects fled the store through the same entrance. No one was injured during the robbery.

One suspect is described as a black male with a slim build, between 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 5 feet 9 inches tall and approximately 160 pounds. The second suspect is described as a black male with a medium build. He is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and between 180 and 190 pounds.

The suspects were wearing black nylon masks with eye and mouth holes cut out, short sleeve shirts, blue jeans and sneakers, police said.
