JS Dollar World

JS Dollar World at 901 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown will hold a grand opening celebration on Saturday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The celebration will include prizes and hourly drawings along with refreshments, coupons and more.

JS Dollar World, owned by Jean and Sidoney Atse, sells general merchandise, including cleaning and health and beauty products, cosmetics, school and party supplies, household items and food.

The store is open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Edward Jones

Edward Jones financial advisers rank the firm the highest in overall satisfaction, according to a newly released study by J.D. Power and Associates.

The inaugural J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Financial Adviser Satisfaction study ranked Edward Jones highest among the 10 financial services firms ranked.

Edward Jones financial advisers, of which there are six in the local area, gave the high satisfaction ratings in terms of support, people and firm performance.

The study found that financial adviser satisfaction is related directly to investor satisfaction, according to a prepared release from Edward Jones.

Menno Haven

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - ElderDay at Menno Haven, a licensed adult day-care center in Franklin County, Pa., was deemed deficiency-free during the annual inspection by the Department of Aging, Harrisburg.

The inspection includes review of staff charts for medical information, training, background checks, clients' charts for documentation, a review of safety and compliance issues (fire safety, hazardous material, food temperatures, staff to client ratio, activity appropriateness) and interviews with clients.
