The Community Free Clinic is accepting medications that are in the original container, still sealed and that are not expired, officials said.

While most of their donated pharmaceuticals come from pharmacy drug representatives or doctors' offices, they do accept medications from individuals as long as they meet the criteria indicated, said Executive Director Robin Roberson.

Medications can be dropped off at the clinic at 249 Mill St. in Hagerstown. They are open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday while closed for lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. For more information, call 301-733-9234.

Lioness Club plans family picnic Aug. 2

Hagerstown Lionesses will hold their annual family indoor picnic Thursday, Aug. 2, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave., Hagerstown.

The patriotic theme will be "Hail to the Red, White & Blue." Parking will be available across the street on the church parking lot, adjacent to Girls Inc., 626 Washington Ave., (Washington Avenue is a one-way street). Social time begins at 6 p.m., followed by a buffet meal at 6:30 p.m.

The picnic is for Hagers-town Lionesses and family members living in the same residence; house guests; and, of course, grandchildren. The August picnic is considered a regular meeting for the Lionesses.

Lionesses are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item for St. Mark's Food Bank.

Any Lioness who did not make a reservation at the July Lioness meeting and plans to attend the picnic, should call the Social Chair at 301-797-0056 or 301-667-0169 by July 26. Also, all cancellations must be made with the Social Chair. More details of the picnic will be in the Hagerstown Lioness' August newsletter.
