Shorebirds down Suns

July 12, 2007

SALISBURY, Md. - Delmarva scored four runs in the third inning, all after two were out, to erase a two-run deficit Wednesday en route to a 5-2 win over the Hagerstown Suns.

Daniel Figueroa and David Cash each doubled and Brandon Tripp and Chris Vinyard hit back-to-back home runs off Suns starter Erik Arnesen after he got the first two outs for a 4-2 lead.

The Suns jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a run in the second on Joe Napoli's solo homer and a run in the third on Marvin Lowrance's RBI grounder, both off Delmarva starter Pedro Beato.

Delmarva added a run in the fourth on Michael Pierce's grounder to end the Suns' three-game win streak.

The Suns finished with five hits, including two by Francisco Guzman.
