Summer reading program still open

July 12, 2007

There is still time to register for the Washington County Free Library Summer Reading Program. This year, the Reading Club's theme is "Reading Road Trip" and there are age-appropriate game boards available for babies to teenagers. This year also features an Adult Summer Reading Club for individuals 18 and older.

The kickoff for the Summer Reading Club was June 15 at the library in downtown Hagerstown. Children enjoyed a variety of activities, including face painting, games, crafts, ice cream and an animal display from Wildlife Adventures.

All those who register for the club will be eligible to pick up prizes as they complete the tasks designated on the reading club game board. Summer Reading Club members are invited to attend mid-point animal programs in July and the annual "Suns Library Night" Aug. 17 at Municipal Stadium.

Please call 301-739-3250, ext. 132, for Children's Club information, or ext. 136, for Adult Club information.
