A Hagerstown man was charged Monday with conspiracy to commit armed robbery in a Feb. 20 holdup at the Oak Ridge Liquor Store, 18208 W. Oak Ridge Drive, according to Washington County District Court documents.

Billy Lloyd Redman Jr. told Washington County Sheriff's deputies May 17 that he drove the vehicle in which the robber fled on the night of the robbery, documents show.

Redman, 27, of 535 Guilford Ave., was charged in May with counts of malicious destruction of property, armed robbery, robbery, theft of more than $500 and second-degree assault, according to court records in a Feb. 24 armed robbery.

During that incident, the robber wore a brown rubber werewolf mask and demanded that a Pizza Hut manager attempting to make an after-hours deposit outside of M&T Bank on Fairway Lane drop his money bag, court records show.

Redman is scheduled to appear Thursday in Washington County Circuit Court on the charges stemming from the Feb. 24 incident.

Redman was being held Wednesday evening at Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond, a deputy said.
