You will love this movie

Movie review

Stop what you're doing right now and go see "Transformers." I saw it on its opening night, and was left speechless and brain-dead, so I went and bought another ticket and watched it again. That's right: I saw "Transformers" twice in a row. It's that good.

This isn't just a toy movie for kids, like the original "Transformers" cartoon. The movie is a brutal, epic, sci-fi, action-adventure story about a war between gigantic alien robots that come to Earth and hide by transforming into ordinary-looking Earth cars and trucks.

Director Michael Bay really delivers in this movie, and it might just go down as his best film. Similarly, actor Shia LaBeouf really shines in his role as Sam Witwicky, the human who finds himself in the middle of the robots' war.

Whether you're a fan of the cartoon or a casual moviegoer who is skeptical about the idea of robots turning into cars and whatnot, this movie is a thrill ride you won't want to miss.

There's something for everyone. There are vast amounts of humor and action that pair together to make "Transformers" the perfect summer popcorn flick. You'll find yourself laughing at the comedic parts, in dead silence during the action and suspense scenes, and shouting excitedly otherwise.

I should mention that there are some adult-oriented parts in this movie. The special effects are cutting edge, but so are some of the thematic elements. So parents should definitely heed the PG-13 rating.

Longtime fan or not, you'll find yourself caring about CGI robots on a movie screen. You might even walk out of the theater expecting your car to transform. Personally, as a fan, I had high expectations for this movie before seeing it, and I wasn't let down.
