Suns blast Captains

July 10, 2007

EASTLAKE, Ohio - The Hagerstown Suns brought back the good ol' days for at least one day on Monday.

The Suns ripped four home runs - including two solo shots by Joe Napoli - to post a 6-2 victory over Lake County and a sweep of the three-game series.

Napoli hit his homers in the second and eighth innings and scored the go-ahead run in the sixth. It was the largest power output by the Suns since the mass promotions on June 11.

Napoli and Francisco Plasencia led off the second with back-to-back homers off Lake County starter Paolo Espino.

In the sixth, Napoli hit a two-out single and moved to third on an errant pickoff by reliever Austin Creps before scoring on a Plasencia single for a 3-2 lead.
