Zoning hearing planned Wednesday

The Clear Spring Town Council met for only a few minutes Monday evening to pay the town's bills and approve minutes from last month's meeting.

After the meeting, Mayor Paul D. Hose Jr. said a public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall to discuss the future zoning of the former Thompson's Towing property on Cumberland Street.

Hose said the Thompsons want to sell the property under zoning that was grandfathered in several years ago.

Under that zoning, the property could be sold for just about any use, Hose said.

The mayor said the town would rather have the property zoned under existing ordinances, which only would allow for mixed commercial and residential use.

The Town of Clear Spring will host the Washington County Commissioners meeting at 7 this evening in the Clear Spring Library at 12624 Broadfording Road.
