Army Spec. Ryan L. Boyd, son of Ray L. Boyd Jr. of Smithsburg and Crystal R. Gray of Inwood, W.Va., has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Boyd is a gunner normally assigned to the 175th Infantry Battalion, Frederick, Md.

Boyd is a 2003 graduate of Smithsburg High School.




Army National Guard Spec. Joseph G. Stanton Jr., son of Tammy L. Stanton and Joseph G. Stanton Sr., both of Smithsburg, has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Stanton, an infantryman, is normally assigned to the 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry Regiment, White Oak Armory, Silver Spring, Md. He has served in the military for three years.

Stanton is a 2004 graduate of Smithsburg High School.




Army Pfc. Matthew A. Princler has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Princler is an infantryman normally assigned to the 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry, Silver Spring, Md.

He is the grandson of Gerald L. and Joan G. Princler of Frederick, Md.

Princler is a 2002 graduate of Walkersville (Md.) High School.




Army Sgt. Matthew P. Condliffe, son of Donald P. Condliffe of Frederick, Md., has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Condliffe is a team leader normally assigned to the 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry Regiment, Frederick, Md.

His wife, Kendra, is the daughter of Judy Echols of Mount Airy, Md.




Army National Guard Sgt. James D. Carraway, son of Patricia A. Porter and grandson of Jim and Grace Comer, all of Waynesboro, Pa., has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Carraway, an infantry fire team leader, is normally assigned to the 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry, Frederick, Md. He has served in the military for 16 years.

His wife, Christina, is the daughter of James and Debra Oden of Smithsburg.

Carraway is a 1991 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.




Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Moses Norris Jr. has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Norris, a maintenance worker, is normally assigned to the 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry, Frederick, Md. He has served in the military for 35 years.

Norris is a 1973 graduate of Martinsburg (W.Va.) High School.




Army Spec. Gregory M. Bonn, son of A.M. Bonn of Frederick, Md., has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Bonn is a military police member with four years of military service.

Bonn is a 2004 graduate of Linganore High School, New Market, Md.




Army National Guard Pfc. Joseph H. Mason, son of Alfred Mason of Kearneysville, W.Va., has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Mason earned distinction as an honor graduate.




Army Staff Sgt. Jason E. Haines, son of Ernie Haines of Middletown, Md., has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Haines is a squad leader with eight years of military service.

Haines is a 1997 graduate of Middletown High School.
